Over an eight week period, regular acupuncture showed to be as effective as allergy medication, but with beneficial effects that lasted through a ten week re-evaluation period. The recipients were measured through exams of level of inflammation in nose and sinus tissue, biochemical markers, and subjective experience of relief of their symptoms. This is one of my favorite points to lend a spark during allergy season. Ying Xiang translates as "Welcome Fragrance," and this point does exactly that. It unblocks congestion in the sinuses in order for us to breathe easy and enjoy the fragrances of spring, being able to welcome them into our senses instead of get irritated by them. My clients report that this point also helps relieve their eyes of dryness and itching that also comes with the allergy season.
This point tends to have an immediate effect, reducing allergy symptoms quickly after it's used. Combined with other points on a regular basis to help with your constitution, as well as herbal and nutritional adjustments if needed, you can welcome nature this season with open nostrils! :)
Looking forward to seeing you soon. Peace, Jon
